Hello OuterCircle!

Factoid:

Shamelessly taken from Wikipedia - The Irish word Samhain is derived from the Old Irish samain, samuin, or samfuin, all referring to 1 November, and the festival and royal assembly held on that date in medieval Ireland.  One meaning of Samhain is November 1st BUT the Ravens are celebrating Samhain on November 8th… And here is the GATHERING INFORMATION:  COVEN OF THE RAVEN SAMHAIN RITUAL

***Please do not post this information with our exact address on any public or private boards without asking us. But please DO share the information privately with other Pagans who you know personally and who may be interested  ***

The Coven of the Raven, RavenMyst Circle, Samhain Ritual will be held on:

Saturday, November 8th, 2008 At 6 PM.  We will begin gathering at the site at 5PM with the ritual starting as close to 6PM as possible.

This ritual is open to all Witches, Pagans and Pagan-friendly people.  Following the ritual we will have our usual grand potluck with all of the various foods that you wish to share with other friends.

Depending on the weather we will hold the gathering out in the open, so be prepared to dress accordingly. We may also hold the ritual under the pavilion with a fire in the fireplace, or if the weather is really crummy, in the lodge overlooking the lake. Don't worry about the weather…the gathering WILL happen.

If you wish, bring photos of those departed people who you would like to be in communion with. It will be a point of contact for you and will surround us with the energy of the Summerland. Also, you might wish to make their favorite foods to bring along.

**** Bring a dish to pass, your own table setting, and your own drinks. There are plenty of picnic tables, but you may want to bring a lawn chair to sit around the fire.****

Casual dress, robes or ritual clothing are all appropriate. If you have earned degrees in other traditions, we would be honored to have you wear your degree cords when joining our Circle.

There are electrical outlets in the lodge if you are bringing items to heat.

Please bring drums and noise makers, as well as any divination tools you might want to use or share after the ritual.  Also, if you have wares to sell, whether items you have made or items you think might be of interests to the gatherers, please bring them. We will do our best to find table space for you to display them. What you sell, you get to keep. RavenMyst/Coven of the Raven doesn't ask for a percentage. We are just happy to have you join our pagan family.

If you are a pagan parent, we love to have the children of the craft joining us. The only provision is that you take care of them. They are welcome at our gatherings.

Again, please do not publish the exact address on any website without our permission, but DO share this with any pagans you know personally.

Further information and the location of the gathering can be obtained by emailing Wayland Raven at info@ravenscoven.org
